We do not take prescription requests over the telephone.
Your prescription will be ready for collection 48 hours later (excluding the weekend). If you prefer, we can post it back to you (you will need to provide a stamped, addressed envelope).
We are keen to ensure that patients with ongoing medical problems are monitored regularly. If the date for your next review with a doctor or nurse has passed you will be asked to make an appointment.
Prescriptions take 48 hours to process. If you need your prescription sooner than this and have a GOOD reason please let the receptionist know and it will be taken into account.
Acute medication
If you require medication that you have received before but is not on your repeat prescription you will be asked to complete an Acute Medication Request Form
All Medications have potentially harmful interactions and side effects. If your request for a non repeat medication is declined it will be for your own safety.
Medication for a new illness is likely to be refused until you are assessed by one of the doctors, either in surgery or in some cases over the phone. If your medication was recently started but not put on repeat please think back to the consultation. Did the Doctor ask to see you again to see how you were getting on? If so please make a follow up appointment. If more than a few months have passed since you last requested an acute medication the doctor may wish to speak to you first before prescribing.
