Test results are available by phone after 2pm each day.
Please note the reception staff will only relay to you any comments made by the Doctor. They are unable to explain the results.
It takes variable amount of time for different scans and blood tests to return to the doctor and for the doctor to have time to read and action them. When you are sent for a test, ask your doctor for reasonable timescale as to when he or she feels the results will be available. If you wish to discuss your test results you may book in for telephone advice when the appropriate doctor is next on call.
Tests requested by the hospital usually return to the consultant who requested them. Your consultant is likely to discuss them with you at your next appointment or write to you with the results. If you are unsure of the plan you can contact the consultant’s secretary via switchboard for more advice.
